Be praised, Mother of God, by the dying flowers. In spring, they will rise up to praise you again.

(Mieczyslaw Gogacz, Litania kwiatow do Matki Bozej)

Falling petals and leaves cover the gowns of the Madonna and Child. With a serene expression on her face, the Holy Mother explains the cycle of life to her worried Child. Even though the flowers die, their beauty is not lost, for they will reappear in all their glory when spring returns.
