Mary in Books, Films and Music

New Book from the ESBVM

A new book of collected essays on Mary is now available from the Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mary for Time and Eternity: Essays on Mary and Ecumenism.  Edited by William McLoughlin, OSM and Jill Pinnock, with a foreword by distinguished Methodist scholar, Professor Frances Young, the 368 page work invites both readers and contributors to consider the unexpected ways in which Mary challenges and inspires Christian believers today.  Father Thomas Thompson, SM and Dr. Virginia Kimball were among the contributors.  For more information click into www.esbvm.org.uk.

I am particularly pleased to receive you during the first European Meeting of University Lecturers, sponsored by the Council of European Episcopal Conferences and organized by teachers from the Roman universities, coordinated by the Vicariate or Rome's Office for the Pastoral Care of Universities. ... My greeting also goes to other civil and religious authorities, the Rectors and the teachers of the various universities, as well as the chaplains and students present. ... Parish Rosary Program
Source: Patrick Hirzel (parishprojects.com), June 21, 2007

On May 19, 2007, fifty-thousand people prayed the Rosary at the Rose Bowl in California.  Earlier this month, the bishops of the dioceses in the United States and Canada have been asked to encourage the churches in their dioceses to start the Parish Rosary Program in all parishes by October. ...

The Parish Rosary Program is so simple it only takes one person dedicated to Our Lady to run it.  It is just a matter of downloading, photocopying, and distributing small tear-away calendars to parishioners for them to tally the number of rosaries prayed each two weeks and drop the results in the collection basket.  Weekly, year-to-date, and grand totals are published each week in the parish bulletin to remind and encourage everyone to pray the rosary.

For more click into the website in the Source line above.
