Nam Yang Sanctuary

The Marian Sanctuary of Nam Yang commemorates the place where anonymous Christians died for their faith. This happened during the Byong-In persecution in 1866. The sanctuary was dedicated to the Madonna on October 7, 1991. Nam Yang is the first Korean Marian sanctuary.

The sanctuary grounds hold a big rosary hewn in stone, the statue of Christ the King, the grotto of the Madonna, and the rosary bridge.

The sanctuary is located in the diocese of Suwon, South Korea and goes by the following address:

Kyong ghi - do,
Hwa Song - ghun,
Nam Yang - Myon,
Nam Yang - Li 1259, Korea.

Tel: 082-31-357-5828

Above are some of the pictures from the sanctuary. The last photo [bottom right] shows the "rock of torture" used to torture the martyrs of the Byong-In persecution.
