Catherine Ostendorf, the wife of the late artist, made the donation on August 12, 2010.  Her husband, Edward, painted this work in 1995 at his Reflective Images studio in Waynesville, Ohio.  He did other religious works, for example, Our Counselor and Our Future, which present his vision of Jesus Christ.  Prints of different sizes of these works were donated along with the original painting of Our Mother which measures 16" x 20" and is valued at $5,000.
