NOP (artist) is a devout Buddhist from the south of Thailand which was the sight of a spate of killings between Islamic fundamentalists and Buddhists.  He recently married his wife from the north of Thailand, and is the new father of a daughter born a year after the tsunami on December 23, 2006.  He studied art in the south of Thailand and holds a degree in art and design.  He has a small house and art studio only three blocks from the full hit of the tsunami.
