Bro. Aspell is an art instructor, having received his M.A. from
the University of California at Santa Barbara. His commissions
include the design of the altar platform, liturgical furniture
and silver objects for the papal visit to San Francisco in 1987.

Bro. Joseph Barrish, SM
Dayton, Ohio
|
Bro. Barrish has been represented in galleries and collections
worldwide, such as the IBM Gallery (NYC), the Dayton Art
Institute, Sentanta Gallery (Dublin, Ireland). He is assistant
professor of Fine Arts at the University of Dayton and is the
director of Marianist Press, a printer for non-profit
organizations.

Bro. John Lemker, SM
Kalamazoo, Michigan
Bro. Lemker excels in nature photography. He has contributed to
Time-Life Books, Sierra Club calendars, International
Wildlife magazine and numerous textbooks. He has exhibited
in Michigan and Ohio, including the University of Dayton Kennedy
Union Gallery and Gallery St. John in Dayton, Ohio.
Bro. Gary Marcinowski, SM
Dayton, Ohio
Bro. Marcinowski earned his B.F.A. at Boston University. He works
in a studio setting involved with liturgical space and
furnishings. His work has shown nationally, with pieces in
private and museum collections. Of special interest to him is
contemporary furniture design.
Bro. Brian Zampier, SM
Dayton, Ohio
Bro. Zampier's specialization is drawing. He is a graphic
designer at Marianist Press, Dayton, Ohio. His work has been
published in National Catholic Reporter,
America, and Ohio magazine. He holds an M.F.A.
from Syracuse University.
Bro. Mel Meyer, SM
Kirkwood, Missouri
Bro. Meyer has studied art throughout Europe, South America, the
Far East, as well as the United States. His M.A. was received
from the University of Notre Dame. He has completed numerous
commissions for churches and business nationally.
Bro. Don Smith, SM
Dayton, Ohio
Bro. Smith specializes in raku - the characteristically Japanese
fired glazed tiles. Recent exhibitions and shows in Ohio include
the University of Dayton Kennedy Union Gallery, Dayton Art Expo
and Sinclair Community College Learning Resource Center in
Dayton. He is a full-time artist in-residence at Mount Saint John
and director of Gallery Saint John.
The Dayton-based exhibitors are members of Marianist Network for
the Arts, a Cincinnati province group of artists "dedicated to
the Marianist spirit of building community, openness, listening
and creative action. [They] aim to inspire others with [their]
creative service, to expand awareness, to foster broad creativity
and to risk a gospel impact with [their] art."
