Artist's Statement
Religious faith has traversed time, place and space through word of mouth. Artists in all times have created pictorial images and symbols and have used their gifts to serve the varied religious/spiritual needs not only of others but many times themselves.
Religious content has been an underlying theme woven into the fabric of art throughout my adult life. My art of the past seven years has been based primarily upon religious content. These use the Bible and scripture as reference points. Paraphrased passages, phrases, quotes, words and images have become integral parts of my work. Most recent pieces utilize words to create picture images and symbols and may be considered WordArt.
Through my art, like many other artists of the past and present, I try to reveal the human connection to God through Christianity and my Catholic faith.
