About the Exhibit

"My paintings pay homage to the sacred gift of life through imagery of women, inspired by the Blessed Mother.  In my heart I see women as timeless and iconic symbols representing the ongoing and holy nature of existence."

Included in this exhibition is "Jesus of the People."  Sister Wendy Beckett selected Janet McKenzie as winner of the National Catholic Reporter's global competition for a new image of Jesus at the Millennium.  "Jesus of the People" has gathered public attention in this country and abroad.
