Executed as mixed media and relief on plywood, this icon- style painting illustrates the whirlwind of God's mighty Spirit as he roars and storms through skies and city before settling down, now all gentle and life-giving breath, in Mary's heart and womb. Rapoport, a recently deceased Russian artist, combines in this artwork elements of Russian constructivism and the ancient Byzantine art form of icon painting.
