Is there or was there ever a Father Antoine LaGrande? The Sun is running another article on the St. Bernadette prophecies. I have seen them right here in Houston, Texas at the local stores like Wal-Mart. Your answer to the question about the prophecies was that Father Lagrande never applied for access to the Vatican Library, but you did NOT say that he does not exist. Does he exist? Is he a living person or a lie concocted by a reporter?

Hello,
My Grandfather, Carl, was from Austria. I think he was from Linz. Would you and your community please pray for my twenty-year-old son, William? He was born in Australia, but now lives in the United Sates. He has applied to be a Carthusian monk at Le Grande Chartreuse. Please pray for him to go on retreat, be accepted as a novice and become a monk there.
Peace be with you.

The article on "Anna" in the old Catholic Encyclopedia states that "legend knows that she (the prophetess Anna) had had Mary under her tutelage in the Temple." Can you give a source for this legend please? It doesn't seem to appear in the Proto-Evangelium of St James.

I would just like to say that Our Blessed Mother, Mary, has always been there for me and my family. along with her Beloved Son, Jesus. I could never have gotten through the tough times in my life if it hadn't been for our Blessed Mother. She has always revealed her love to me, along with the peace and trust that I have experienced in some of the difficult times in my life. She always gave me the strength to go on. I recommend to everyone to put their trust and hope in the Blessed Mother. She will never let you down. I love and trust her with my whole heart and soul.

My mother had great devotion to the Blessed Mother. I pray to Mary daily and ask for her help and guidance for myself and my family. I have particular devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes. Sometimes I feel that through her help, I get through tough situations. Sometimes I just turn everything over to Mary because I can't deal with it. It helps.

Mary is our Mother, the Ark of the New Covenant, The Immaculte Conception, the Mother of God, Assumed into Heaven
She is Virgen for all eternity. This Time is the Her Time to be recognized as Coredemtrix, mediatrix and Adovocate.
Before each mystery of the rosary pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now
Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live
in the hearts of all nations, that they may be
preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the
Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgen Mary be our
Advocate. Amen Our Lord prayed the same prayer 3 times
while he found his apostles sleeping. We must pray the rosary many times.

I would wish that all catholics know this very fact: The Holy Virgin Mary is not a figure to be worshipped of reverenced more than the child "she" bore knowing full well that she was conceived by the holy ghost. She wasnt the only woman called 'blessed' and this statement should not be taken too much.

Mary, Mother of the Church, help us see through the darkness that may surround the Church in our times. Look to Mary, she will be our beacon and guiding light. Mary, Star of the Sea, Mother of the Church, Mother of God,be the mediator of grace when we are in so desperate a need of your

I visit them often and I feel such profound joy that I do not want leave the capenter's house...but being human that is not possible. I have been praying a novena to Our Blessed Mother Mary to intercede for me and ask God to grant healing of body, mind and spirit; prosperity in work and finances for my son, Chris. This is the first time I have prayed a "formal" novena other than my own spontaneous prayers. I hope I am "doing" it right. I know the important thing is to have faith in our Blessed Mother and in her son, Jesus. May God grant my request of healing my beloved son, thru the intercessions of His beloved mother. Amen.

I was in telecommunications but have been retired for three years. I came back to the Catholic church in 1994 after being away since 1962. I came to believe about five years ago when I saw a stained glass window of St. Bernadette and the Blessed Mother that my daughter was saved from death in 1987 by their intervention. She was 13 years old and in a coma for almost 24 hours. The doctors said she might not make it. That was Feb. 10, 1987. The next day, Feb. 11 she came out of the coma with no complications. The doctors said it was miraculous. As you can see Feb. 11 was when Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette. I was not yet back in the Catholic church at the time and did not come to believe that it was their intervention that saved her until I saw that stained glass window.

some years ago I studied christian spiritualilty at the Angelicum University in Romw....I graduated with flying colours, but it was all in my head...only. For the last 2 years Mother Mary has been appearing to me weekly and teching me how to pray with my heart and through my heart. How to pass on her love and god's love to the person for whom I am praying. She started with having me pray for Sadam Hussein, and gave me a mother's love for him to be able to do so. thank you Mary, Jesus and God.

Mary is a true inspiration to all. She spoke to me through her mother at a church in Brittany in France. I am now studying for a Masters Degree in Theology and as a special Thank you to her, i am writing my first essay in dedication to her, i am sure it will not be my last.
I believe that she speaks to ALL when no one else can. With simplicity, humility and love. Dedicating a novena to her seems like a very small gift to bestow on her in comparison to all i believe she gives freely. True unconditionality. i adore her for it. This is for you alone Mary.

I am a practicng catholic who is struggling with the concept of the role given by our church to Mary. As I read and meditate on the Gospel, the Acts and Paul, I do not see anywhere a justification for the magnitude of the role given to her by the catholic church in the last centuries.

How and when did the concept of Mary as a sort of "co-redempteur" develops in our church?

I have read recently that the Mother of Jesus was probably named Maryam rather than Mary. I believe this opinion of the Virgin's name derives principally from research into common names in the jewish communities of the 1st century BCE. While the name will make no difference to our devotion to the Virgin, is the name 'Maryam' now accepted by the majority of Catholics as the most likely? I think we should bring our scholarship to bear on the Holy Family. In so doing it can only enhance our love.

His Mother for our own.

My comment is more of a question, is our lady continuing her appearance anywhere at the present time. It seems we need her presence more today than ever, it's difficult to think that she would have left us at such a time. I realize that when she is reportedly appearing, a carnival like atmosphere takes over and yet there are always those who love and need her who also frequent such spots seeking validation. Would appreciate someone else's input.

I am a widow and now grandparent. I live in SE UK . There is no mention of Our Lady Queen of Widows this would be a great comfort to so many of us round the world. I too love the Rosary as did my late husband who wrote a series of 20 reflections and stories round them.2 of the decades have been chosen by the Holy Father in the Mysteries of Light.
(the 2 Feasts)My husband died in Ooctober 2001 before the Year of the Rosary, I have all his work on CD as I too would like to see the Rosary more widely used. I have had great comfort in my loss and my parish in TW Kent has been very good to me.
This country has for centuries been dedicated to Our Lady as her dowry and we need her help.
Does the Mary pagge promote Walsingham the present bishop was our parish priest til March 2002 and the fact that before the Refoormation we had a great devotion to Oour Lady. Does anyone understand that this country went through 300+ years of pain and impossible times in order to keep the Catholic Faith alive.

Like many who have converted to the Catholic Faith, the doctrines concerning Mary were the greatest obstacle I faced. Raised in an evangelical home, I felt that Catholic devotion to Mary was excessive, although I realized that my own Protestant devotion to her was paltry. My difficulties were overcome when I finally prayed, "Lord, let me love Your Mother with the same intensity that You have for her - neither more, nor less." This prayer led to my full acceptance of the Catholic Faith, and an ever-deeping devotion to the Holy Mother of God. I've just finished reading True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin, by St. Louis de Montfort. I am preparing to make my Consecration on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. AD JESUM PER MARIAM!!!

I've been away from the Catholic church for many years, but I've always wanted to return. Last year, I had a serious health scare, and my husband (who isn't even Catholic) bought me a Rosary to keep my mind off the test results.

I began to pray the Rosary every day, and soon I was calm and accepting of whatever God had in store for me. The tests came back just fine, and I continued to say the Rosary in thanksgiving to God and the Blessed Virgin.

A couple of months ago, following the death of a friend, I had a desperate need to go to Mass one Saturday evening, and there was only one church that had a late Mass. I walked through the doors. . .and I instantly felt at home. Two weeks later, I talked to the priest, went to Confession, and now I'm back where my heart has always led me -- the Catholic faith.

I believe with all my heart that it is the Blessed Virgin who has led me back to the Church through the recitation of Her Rosary. Her love for us is so wonderful!

The only law school I was admiited to was UD law and I have always had great devotion to Mary. However, it was not until recently, 20 years after graduating, that I realized that admission to UD was no accident. With the largest Marian Library I was under Mary's protection even while in law school and I did not know it. I have used my legal education to litigate in anti-abortion arenas-and successfully to (with the help of my wife, a Cornell law grad).

I have been taught about Mary the Mother of Jesus all my life. But it is only recently that I begin to reflect on her great faith and how as a very young woman, she did not stagger at the promises of God. How with out even having doubt she said yes to his awesome plan that through her the savior of all mankind would be saved. I am what is termed a "born again christian" but even though I am not a practicing catholic it is awesome to be able to come to this page and say how I feel about Mary and her great faith and courage.
As a mother of 3 I wonder at what she went through as she watched her oldest child suffer for the very people who were crucifing him! Mary-the mother of Our Lord is a woman that continues to be a role model 2000 years after the fact. A woman who stood up and said yes to God-and followed the plan that He laid out for her life.

If only the women of this day and time could catch a glimpse of her courage and bravery -her faith and strength-oh how we would change this ever darkening world with the light of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am now Catholic and seek to help others know and understand Her role as Mother of the Church. I also credit her intercession in saving me from dying of pnuemonia in May 2001. I have to thank the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit for bringing me back to the Catholic church. I was a luke warm Catholic for many years. Three years ago I was reading a fictional book called "Pierced by a Sword" by Bud Macfarlane Jr. and the grace of God touched me when I surrendered myself to God. I was given a deep and profound love for the Blessed Virgin Mary when I read this book. The day the Holy Spirit touched me I started saying the rosary. I remember that I could only say the Hail Mary, Our Father and Glory Be, because I didn't know any of the other prayers or mysteries. Not knowing the rest of the prayers and mysteries didn't stop me. At first I said the rosary once or twice a week. I soon fell in love with rosary and said a daily rosary. Now I try to say daily two to four rosaries for personal and world problems. Meditating on the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous mysteries brings me closer to Jesus and Mary. Much thanks need to go to Pope John Paul II for giving us the Luminous mysteries in October 2002. Pope John Paul II is an awesome pope!

I recommend that everyone read "Pierced by a Sword", many graces from God have come to people who have read this book. You can get a free copy of this book at www.catholicity.com. There are also other free books and free Marian tapes/CD's on this web site. On this web site you can read around 100 stories of people who have come back to the Catholic church and strengthened their faith from reading this book.

God has given us the gift of Mary so that we may approach Him, without dread. As a mother I relate too easily to her pain. In doing the Sorrowful Mysteries or the Stations of the Cross I can not help but be pulled into her time and her pain. In experiencing her love for her Son, His love for us is fully revealed. Although born and raised a Catholic, I did not have a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother until I was in college. For the last ten years, my love and devotion has deepened for her, and she has brought me (and keeps bringing me) closer to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

I recently bought three animated programs on video tape from CCC of America (www.cccofamerica.com) about Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Lourdes, and Our Lady of Fatima. I hope to buy the DVDs when they are available.

Mary was chosen by God, from all of the women in the world, to bear His son. I think she is very special. Her devotion to God surpasses us all. In these recent years, we have seen many articles on Marian apparitions. Many of these apparitions have brought about special messages to all, many premonitions, many warnings, many instructions of what is to come about if we do not act, repent and be more devoted to the Father. Through Mary, we can achieve more to save ourselves from destruction. I believe she has been coming for very serious reasons and that we should act upon it now. Pray the rosary and repent for all our sins. Embrace life, as it is a gift from the Holy Father. Please listen and act upon this. Let us pray for world peace so as to prevent a third world war. God be with us all!

thanks

Mary is seen by me as the Mother of all people. She if you allow her will led you to her son. She is very gentle and comforting in a crisis. Her Rosary becomes more and more dear to me as does she as time goes on. Her many titles offer every person an avenue in which to reach and relate to her. I love her.

The Blessed Mother was and is fundamental to the true Christian faith. In life here on Earth she was instrumental in forming our Lord, supporting Him and encouraging Him. She helped start His ministry at Cana. Then she stepped aside, humbly and lovingly yielding to the Son of the Living God. She points the way, and steps aside, directing us to Jesus. Jesus instruction to us was to pray to the Father. I recommend to all faithful and devoted Catholic and Orthodox believers to first and formost, pray to God. You might wish to take up the Liturgy of the Hours for a balanced and worshipful alternative to your customary devotions. And try the Jesus prayer, also known as the prayer of the heart. Then when you pray the rosary you may feel a renewed vigour in your devotion.

When I was growing up my religious education teacher said in class one night that he always said three Hail Mary's before traveling in his car. I must say this is truly the only specific thing I remember from that class, but to this day I still say my Hail Mary's before traveling and sometimes more than three depending on how nervous I am about the traffic. I thank him for sharing this with me and the Blessed Mother for always calming me and keeping me safe. I love her dearly and feel her presence in my life.

and converted to the Roman Catholic Church by our
Mother, the Virgin Mary brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you.

Thank you for all your efforts on behalfof Our Lady, The Blessed Virgin Mary.

There is so much going on in the world today. Have you knowledge about Our Lady's Shrine, Maranatha Springs located in Elyria, Ohio, just a few miles west of Cleveland?

I have been twice. Many Testimonials from Pilgrims have been given about sightings of Angels, Jesus, Mary, and our Saints. You can learn about the Shrine via the WWW Net. Dial holylove.org and selet Missionary Servants of Holy Love. When I last visited the site, I counted 6 Catholic Priests. I gave confession at the site. We prayed the Rosary. Our Lady always does something extraodinary after a special event. She has lit up the Cleveland Sky like the 4th of July. She has made the sun spin and dance to and frow. One Grandmother I talked to at Maranatha told me that she saw Cherub Angels flying upside down one morning.
I have taken many digital pictures of Testimonials posted at Maranatha. Visit the property and Pray to our Lady. Spread the word.

I am a convert. However after graduating from university and I became a 'liberal' Christian and during the course of the journey became alienated from Mother Mary even to the extent of questioning the need of her in the Church. 7 years ago I found myself praying at her shrine (Mother of Perpetual Help)- we have a weekly novena to her at that particular church which records huge attendance at every service (there are 8 novena services at every hour on Sat). To cut the story short I found myself drawn back to Mother Mary . Being a mother of 2 boys now I can relate to her more as the Mother of Christ and the Mother of God. And I relish the time I spend in prayer to her - she draws me closer to her Son and that to me is her main purpose in the Church. I thank God everyday for the gift of His Mother.

Please continue to believe, the Blessed Virgin Mary is truly the Mother of God, the Mother of our Savior and therefore; the Mother of all children.

I have been troubled by the events that have happened in the world since September 11, 2001. On October 29th, my 41st wedding anniversary, I meditated on “What can I do to help my country at this time?” The answer came that I should pray the rosary each night before going to sleep.

I have not prayed the rosary for decades or only at funerals. This was not always so, my mother was named ‘Marion’ and she had a wonderful relationship with the Blessed Mother. She would pray to her and her prayers where always answered. I went from K to 12th grade at the St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton, NJ. therefore the rosary was a part of my early training. In the past it just became something that took too much time for a busy person like me to do and I stopped saying it about the time I started taking care of my family.

On the 29th I went to bed and of course did not say the rosary, in fact I never thought about it. At 4:30 A.M. in the morning on the 30th I awoke knowing that I must say the rosary and I did. I went about my day on the 30th not thinking about the rosary and at night I went to bed with the TV on and all the world news. After being there awhile I turned off the TV and just had the compulsion to say the rosary. I took out the beads and started praying. I had only just begun the “Hail Mary” when a voice said to me that I was wasting my time and that I was very foolish that my little prayers would not help and that I should stop.

This really scared me and also made me think. What was so afraid of my little prayer? I could not allow whatever it was trying to stop me from reaching out to the Blessed Mother for assistance to win. I continued the rosary and it took all my strength and concentration to finished the five decades. I feel asleep and again around 4:30 A.M. was awaken to the realization that I must tell this to someone so that more people know how important it is to say the rosary. If just one person saying can cause something evil to try and stop the prayers then the rosary and Mary’s assistance must be very powerful weapon in stopping this evil. I do not know how to get my message out to others and asked for help in selecting someone to write to. You were the answer.

Thank you for reading this and if there is something I need to know or do, please let me know.

God Bless

I am so grateful to Jesus for sharing His Holy Mother with us.
I am firmly convinced that her intercession is the reason I
am Catholic today. I was a Southern Baptist until 1996; I
even attended a Baptist college and served as a Baptist summer
missionary. I felt drawn to Mary and Marian devotion from the
time I was 12, and it was this attraction which finally drew
me into the Church Christ established 2000 years ago.

Mary, Mother of Jesus and thus Mother of God, is easier to approach as a woman, because I am a woman. Her maternal understanding of how I love, which I perceive more as I age, is a great comfort to me. I see that she has supported me as I love my family and others. It helps to know she knows and cares about each one, and is thinking of them also, as I do. This makes it easier to trust the Father. I have many heartaches as mother of a large family, which seem heavy, yet not as much now that I understand more about Mary, from reading more and joining the Legion of Mary. De Montfort's Handbook focuses on her, it is so useful.

Mary is with us. Praying the rosary daily seems at times repetitive and sometimes I have doubts about why I pray it but it does put me in the correct frame of mind, going within to give thanks and to ask for help. It never fails that when I ask for the Holy Spirit to come into my home and our hearts, that this is what happens. When each day holds even one moment of revelation of all that is available to me and all that I have, that day is a gift from the Mother and her Son.

I am a Lutheran pastor and have great admiration for and devotion to the Mother of God. I have done a good deal of work in analyzing Martin Luther's views of the Blessed Virgin, and many Lutherans would be quite surprised how "catholic" he was with regard to her perpetual virginity, Immaculate Conception, and Assumption. As a non-Roman Catholic, I can tell you that the Blessed Virgin's place in Lutheran (and basically all non-Roman Catholic) theology and practice is nil. And that is to our detriment. I am trying to do what I can to restore Marian devotion among Lutherans, and I want to thank you again for your work.

Three and a half years ago, we found out that our son, now age 7 1/2 has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This is a terminal disease, over the next year of so, I became more deeply depressed and anxious, my personal and family life was going down rapidly. Since november of 1998 I've been
treated by a doctor, a regular pharmalogical experiment, now I'm seeing a psychologist and a psycharist for anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs. I was having panic attacks and lost any zest for life, it's been difficult.

Last june, my mother gave me my grandfather's rosary.
I grew up a catholic, twelve years of catholic school, yet I don't remember ever praying the Rosary, for about the last 8 months I've been on a personal quest to renew my faith and a large part has been saying the rosary. At first it was infrequent once or twice a week, since Christmas, I've prayed the Rosary daily. To me it is a simple way to get closer to Jesus Christ and give reverence and respect to the Holy Mother of God, Mary. I do believe that I am praying the Rosary mostly for myself but I began by praying for a cure or miracle for my son. I believe that either God will heal him, or he will not, as it is God's own plans that I cannot know. But I do know this that without my daily
prayer of the Rosary, I feel lost and incomplete and don't feel as though I have a conversation with God. I 've read some or most of the Fatima revelations and follow that manner of praying the Rosary. I suppose I'm realy writing this note to let someone else know that praying the Rosary has been a God-send to me, as it strengthens me and gives me hope in the future.
