1	Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. World Day of Peace. In Rome, the church St. Mary in Trastevere celebrates its stational feast. The church was build by Pope Calixtus I († 222). 3	1944: Sister Lucia is asked by the Bishop of Fatima to write down the third Fatima secret.
6	Epiphany of the Lord (in the United States, the first Sunday after January 1), "They found the child with his mother" (Matthew 2:11-13). 804: The Marian cathedral (Marienmünster) in Aachen, built by Charlemagne, was dedicated on this date by Pope Leo III.
7	1844: Birth of Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes.
11	Sixth century: In Rome, celebration of the dedication of the ancient and beautiful church, St. Mary in Cosmedin. The sacristy contains an eighth-century mosaic, "Adoration of the Magi."
13	1547: The Council of Trent declares that Mary remained free of all sin through a special dispensation of grace. 1838: First Mass celebrated in New Zealand in the newly erected church of St. Mary of Hokianga.
15	Feast of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, New Orleans 1933: First apparition of Mary in Banneux, Belgium, recognized by the Bishop of Lüttich, Belgium on August 11, 1949 More at: www.marypages.com/banneuxEng.htm

18	1933: Second apparition of Mary in Banneux, Belgium. Mary points to the well.
19	1933: Third apparition of Mary in Banneux, Belgium. Mary describes herself as the Virgin of the Poor.
20	1861: Death of St. Meinrad. The foundation of the Swiss place of pilgrimage, Maria Einsiedeln, originates with him. 21	Feast of Our Lady of Altagracia, particular to the Dominican Republic.
23	Feast of the wedding of Mary and Joseph.
24	Feast of St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622), founder of the Sisters of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
31	Feast of St. John Bosco (1815-1888), founder of the Salesians and Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians. 1673: Birth of St. Louis Maria Grignion de Montfort, one of the most significant Marian saints.
