Scholarship and Financial Aid Information

  1. Mother of Perpetual Help Scholarship for the International Marian Research Institute:

    In memory of John and Anna Samaha of San Francisco, California. Beginning in spring 1997 three IMRI tuition scholarships of $1,500 each will be available annually. This scholarship gives priority to Eastern Catholic and Third World students, but does not exclude others. Upon acceptance as a degree student with IMRI and the demonstration of financial need, one become eligible. This scholarship is renewable annually based on academic achievement and financial need.   2. The Arthur W. Clinton, Jr, Scholarships and Awards:

    Scholarship

    A memorial to Arthur W. Clinton, Jr., this source of financial assistance is available from the Mariological Society of America. Scholarship funds are available for doctoral study in Mariology, and for post-doctoral research and publication in Mariology.

    To apply, submit the following:
    1) a transcript of courses;
    2) the prospectus or overview of the dissertation;
    3) two letters of recommendation--one from the thesis director, another from a faculty member or director of the program;
    4) a letter from the applicant containing the following: a detailed plan of the work which will be accomplished during the year; the specific amount requested, together with a budget showing how the money will be used.

    Award

    An Arthur W. Clinton, Jr., Award is granted ordinarily to a post-doctoral applicant working on a specific topic in Marian studies which will result in a publication. Assistance can be given to support the research, writing, and the preparation of the manuscript for publication. The following should be submitted in the application:

    1) a curriculum vitae;
    2) a description of the project, together with a letter of support from a colleague;
    3) a letter from the applicant giving the specific amount requested and explaining how the money will be used.

    Applications for financial assistance for the academic year 1999-2000 (beginning with the fall semester) must be submitted by the preceding May 1, 1999.
